From the day our company began more than 45 years ago, giving back to the community has been a significant part of who we are.
This commitment is illustrated by our president, Chris Kielb, serving on the Board of Trustees of Western New England University (WNE) in Springfield, MA, and on WNE’s College of Engineering Advisory Board.
WNE’s Center for Advanced Manufacturing Systems (CAMS), which aims to be a leading regional center for study and workforce training in advanced manufacturing, recently received a grant from the Innovation Institute at the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative (MassTech) to promote the use of welding technologies in Massachusetts.
Part of the grant allowed WNE students to receive hands-on training with robotic welders, and our facility is one of the places where students applied their classroom learning to practical situations.
The metal inert gas (MIG) welder training session we provided was part of an Introduction to Welding Course for seniors and juniors at WNE studying Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Construction Management.
The facility tours we offered, along with training and expert assistance from our team of experienced welding professionals, provided students with an understanding of welding technologies they would not have otherwise gained.
As future engineers and construction management professionals, this knowledge can help them make informed decisions and enhance the functionality and safety of the products or structures they design, specify, build, or manufacture.
