For the past 18 years, we have been part of Nadcap and are proud to have just extended our certification for another two years, through 2026. This development underscores our qualifications to provide welding, brazing, and related services to manufacturers of assemblies, parts, and components used in aerospace, aviation, and military applications.

To give you an idea of how rigorous the certification process is, we followed a set of steps in preparation for the audit. Specifically, we ensured that our process for quality control, personnel qualification, procedure control, material control, equipment maintenance, filler materials, gases, and calibration were compliant with Nadcap’s audit criteria checklist. The certification process is complex, and here is a flow chart that shows you the comprehensive scope of the process.

Auditors reviewed the checklist against the procedures we developed for compliance and gave us a favorable evaluation. Auditors also performed multiple job audits on our shop floor and made certain that the quality of our welding, brazing, fabrication, and related services are of the highest quality so that the aircraft or spacecraft in which the parts, assemblies, and components we help to manufacture can function safely and efficiently.

Nadcap’s Program Features & Benefits

Nadcap is used by most companies that manufacture assemblies, parts, or components for the aerospace industry. Before Nadcap existed some 40 years ago, each supplier was audited by aerospace manufacturers separately. This process led to redundancies and wasted time. Nadcap standards are set through collaborations among suppliers and manufacturers with various task groups approving standards for each process. This approach fosters the sharing of multiple perspectives on standards criteria to help ensure that suppliers are meeting standards that Nadcap teams have created and approved.

After a supplier is certified, it is allowed to sell to any of the manufacturers that participate in Nadcap. As a result of the joint efforts required to ensure the program’s ongoing effectiveness, aerospace and defense companies and their supply chain partners save time and money, allowing them to innovate together and individually.
